Motherhood in Vegas!!!

After my death defying battle with Pirates, I loaded up in a car full of mommies and headed out to Sin City otherwise known as "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". It was a "Life Intensive" seminar , we were attending there, with Natalie Norton (Breathe)! The thing is, when girls are together too long, we share. We share and then we cry. Then we eat. Then we share again. Then we eat, share, cry all at once. Nothing says love like sharing an omelet and spilling your life's problems.  But I digress. We gathered up our group of 7 and all our baggage (real not metaphoric) and shoved ourselves into a "Pilot". We got to our destination hours later and were glad to see the glittering lights of the "strip".  We stood at the desk, of course there were 3 big tournaments going on and it was crowded, but our Clerk was kind (shout out to Jay) to us. There were two rooms on different floors. We said, "Now Jay. We are 7 mommies away from home. We are in Vegas. We are going to order lots' and lots' of chocolate milkshakes and we just may order, I know it is wild, but order a PG-13 movie." Jay found two rooms near each other.  Girls need to be close so we can run to each others rooms in our feet -ee pajamas and borrow eye liner, toothpaste, acne zappers. We shared, we ate, we saw a show, intensive, mall, ate, shared, slept. Renewing is the word. I came home with a change of vocabulary. Not meaning I took up swearing. I decided to choose my words carefully. I felt fulfilled and felt connected the way girls do when they bond. We came to the end of our journey quickly. We all missed hubbies and Chiclets but were hesitant to give up our "sisterhood" so soon. We sat waiting for the Valet, our ten thousand bags and coats and hand bags in tow. Eddie, the Valet, said "girls, I am sorry but your not going to fit all those bags in this here little car." Experience tells him that.  I looked him straight in the eye and said , "Eddie, we come from the land of children and Van-gos!"  "We are mommas who are use to stuffing 8 kids, 14 bags, snacks and enough food for 5 meals, the family pet and an occasional friend in a Van-go the size of a thimble." He did not believe us. With 5 women assisting him, we were on the road within 7 minutes, not a bag out of place!!!" We women know our strengths……………………..most of the time! (More on that tomorrow!) I recommend if you are a momma who doesn't indulge in sisterhood often and puts the children first always. Get away with some
"sista" and have milkshakes and a PG-13 movie. It will do the body good. Go and do ……..with a friend!
