Total Point Of.......

Total Point of view......so I am shared a story of a young down syndrome girl , Joy,riding in the car with her older sister (in her forties) and her mother. The cutey girl has a cousin, Stacey, who was in an accident and severely brain damaged. The girl's sister has always been overly sensitive to anyone using the words "retarded", "retard", etc. Joy, observing some knucklehead cutting them off on the freeway shouted out "Retard!" Her sister, so protective of that word, said, "Joy, I don't let anyone say that because it isn't nice." Joy's response? "Well Stacey isn't in the car."

So funny, right? This cute Joy, with Down Syndrome, saying it is okay to say retard as long as that family member with brain damage isn't in the car. 

I think when we are out and about in the world and things happen...let us think of perspective. Not ours but others.
