Grandbablets...
Grandbablets....everyone tells you that having grand Littlies is the best. I always thought how can they out shine your own adorbs wee ones? The joy of watching your babies speak first words, sing in the back of the choir, prepare for prom, make wildly crazy life decisions and learn from them, how can more little ones be better then that, pray tell!
Then they are.
They sleep talk on the "camping" berth you prepared especially for them at the foot of your own bed and their ramblings are all about you. It's the smallest of hands reaching into your ever aging ones for a comfort squeeze. It is the running to you even when ma and pa are around. It is the infectious laughter as they are buoyed by the waving water in your "garden" tub that seems to them like a giant pool. The multi colored porch with etchings of their ambiguous art work made by pastel side walk chalk that has smeared all over their clothes and shoes. It is the breaking of any item that gets in their way and is met with sad tearing eyes letting you know it was "just and accident". It's washing their little clothes and socks and hearing a heartfelt lisp "thank u Happy". It is them demanding everyone call them "Shuga Bean" and "Shuga Pea" because that is what you call them. It is finding them hiding in a rolled up carpet, giggling, with the pure belief you have no idea where they are. It is finding that tiny little white sock in the dryer after they have gone home. It them bursting awake in the way to early mornings shouting "Good Morning Happy!!!!". It is them asking you to come snuggle while they watch Disney s' "Aristocats" and "Frozen" for the hundredth time. It is finding their painted hand prints left on the patio screen.
They just are.
It is worth it. If you haven't already reached out to your grands, do it. You cannot go wrong.
