What a day....

What a day....we have decided, well really when we bought the house, to gut our kitchen. We started (after over a year) on the planning and then the ordering and then the stressing.

Miracles happened. Cabinets arrived. Many decisions were made. Kitchen gutted by us. New chapter.

What a day....started. With the innards of the kitchen thrown out and washing dishes in the laundry room sink, we have a plate full. The visitor list started to grow. First it was a slow trickle. Ma is coming later for 10 days. Then sissie, exciting! Then a College graduation! Whew! We will drive up for 4 days. Then a party to put on for 50 people. Then a all day "Emergency Preparedness" for the county I live in. Then a "friend" and her family need a crash pad for a few days. Then my brother and his wife coming for 10 days to plan a company. And then Prince Charming starting up a side business. And then the best, Littlies coming with their littlies to live for a month or two or three! All over 12 weeks all the while the kitchen is gutless.

We don't want to miss these experiences. We could say no, nada, nope, nothing! Our plates are full.... like a glop of mash potatoes are put on it every time there is a new request. We could stop the heaping on with a 2 letter word....NO! But then at the end of the year we would have a completed kitchen without any stress.....but we would MISS the interactions of our loved ones! We would miss "that" time with them. We know we won't care in a year or so that the kitchen is done, we will love it of course but the newness will be gone. The memories and the stories grown from using the word YES will be priceless. So we say yes.

We will survive with a new kitchen and floors and yes we will have some great memories......and think of the stories!

Go and do and say yes!
