Mother's advice for dirty dishes

I know this doesn't fall under the realm of life changing but it is a nice tidbit for dirty dishes. If you don't have time to get to your dishes (are there any of you out there?) then take a dirty pot/bowl/cup and fill it up with hot soapy water and stick your silverware in to soak. That way when the dreaded time arrives (guest coming over) that the dishes must be transferred to the machine we love (dishwasher) your silverware is already clean!
